The 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel) Pipe Band is a non-profit, charitable organization whose members perform and instruct the musical arts of the Highland bagpipe, snare drum and other related instruments. The band has been in existence, under different names, since the 1930s and currently has approximately 60 pipers and drummers playing in three bands.
